We welcome enquiries from enthusiastic and talented researchers interested in joining our group at the University of Bath. Our research spans synthetic organic chemistry, visible-light photocatalysis, organosulfur chemistry, and the development of new methods for the synthesis of amines and nitrogen heterocycles, with applications in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery.
PhD Students
Applications from prospective PhD students are welcome throughout the year. Candidates should have an excellent academic record, a strong background in organic chemistry, and a genuine enthusiasm for developing new synthetic methods.

Postdoctoral Researchers
We welcome enquiries from outstanding early-career researchers interested in joining the group. Funded postdoctoral positions will be advertised when available, but we are also happy to support applications for externally funded postdoctoral fellowships from suitably qualified candidates.

Undergraduate Students
Opportunities for undergraduate research projects and summer placements may be available within the group. Please contact Alex for further information.
Students joining the group receive training in modern synthetic organic chemistry, including air- and moisture-sensitive techniques, reaction optimisation, purification and spectroscopic characterisation. Depending on the project, students may also gain experience in visible-light photocatalysis, continuous-flow chemistry, and high-throughput experimentation.
Visiting Researchers
We welcome enquiries from researchers interested in undertaking short-term research visits, internships or collaborative projects within the group. Opportunities may be available for visiting PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and academic visitors, subject to appropriate funding and laboratory capacity.
